One of Three Routes to GNM

DCECE (Para Medical) β€” GNM Admission in Bihar Explained

What DCECE is, how the BCECEB cycle runs from application to seat allotment, eligibility, and how it compares with direct admission.

Counselling & ranks — 2026 figures

Now published from the official BCECEB documents: the real 2026 GNM closing ranks, the counselling steps, dates and document list, and Bihar's full GNM seat matrix.

What DCECE Is

DCECE β€” the Diploma Certificate Entrance Competitive Examination β€” is Bihar's state-level entrance test for diploma courses, conducted every year by BCECEB (Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board). Nursing candidates apply under the Para Medical (PM) group, which is the intermediate (12th pass) level group; PMM is the matric (10th pass) level group.

Clearing DCECE puts you into state counselling, where seats in government and participating private institutes are allotted by rank and choice. It is one of three ways to join GNM at CSNC β€” the others being direct admission on merit at the college, and (for B.Sc Nursing) BUHSJET.

⚠️ Always confirm against the official notification

Exam dates, eligibility rules and counselling schedules change every year. The details below reflect the most recent cycle and are meant to help you plan β€” before you apply, verify on the official portal (bceceboard.bihar.gov.in for DCECE, buhsjet.net.in for BUHSJET). Our counsellors track both and will tell you the current dates on a call.

Eligibility β€” Read This Carefully

General eligibility for the Para Medical (intermediate) group is 12th pass with the prescribed minimum marks, with age limits usually from 17 years upward and relaxations for reserved categories. Some official notifications specify Physics, Chemistry and Biology for particular paramedical courses, and physical or medical fitness standards may apply.

Important: The INC baseline permits eligible 10+2 candidates with English and at least 40%; Science is preferable. But the state counselling route can apply its own subject and marks criteria, which change from year to year. If you are an Arts or Commerce student, this matters β€” call us on 87093 60236 before you assume either way, and always read the current DCECE brochure.

Preparing for the Paper

The Para Medical paper is objective, offline (OMR), and drawn from your 10+2 syllabus β€” Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Knowledge, with no negative marking. Practical advice: since there is no negative marking, attempt every question; revise NCERT Biology thoroughly (it usually carries the largest share); and practise with previous years' papers from the BCECEB site to get used to the OMR format and the time limit.

Where CSNC Fits

Chanchal Suman Nursing College, Mahua (Vaishali) offers 60 GNM seats, is BNRC approved, and trains students across a 230+ bed hospital network including government postings at NMCH Patna and Sadar Hospital Hajipur (documents published here). Fees are published year-wise β€” β‚Ή5,50,000 total, no hidden costs β€” and our desk helps eligible students with the β‚Ή4 lakh Bihar Student Credit Card loan.

Whether you come through DCECE counselling or direct admission, the seat, the training and the fee structure are exactly the same.
