The Arts and Commerce Question
Every admission season we speak to Arts and Commerce students who assume GNM is closed to them. The INC baseline permits eligible 10+2 candidates with English and at least 40%; Science is preferable, but PCB is not stated as compulsory for GNM. The current state or institutional admission notification still controls the final decision.
State counselling boards can apply additional criteria or processes. If you are from Arts or Commerce, read the current official brochure and call 87093 60236 with your marksheet before applying. No webpage should be treated as a substitute for the current official notification.
After You Qualify โ What GNM Actually Leads To
GNM is a 3-year diploma followed by internship. On completion and registration with the Bihar Nurses Registration Council you can work as a staff nurse in hospitals, clinics and community health settings, and you remain eligible for government nursing recruitment. You can also continue later to Post Basic B.Sc Nursing, which is the standard bridge for GNM-qualified nurses who want a degree.
