Why check at all
An open gate and a signboard do not prove that a nursing college is approved for the course and the session you are joining. Approvals are granted course by course and have to be renewed β so ask for the papers, and verify them, before you pay a single rupee.
Who approves what

The four checks
- Ask for the BNRC approval letter for the exact course (GNM or B.Sc) and the current session. An expired letter, "it is under process", or a refusal to show it are all red flags.
- For DCECE seats, find the college in the BCECEB prospectus. Government GNM schools are listed in annexure 3.1C and private GNM colleges in 3.1D of the DCECE prospectus on bceceboard.bihar.gov.in.
- For B.Sc Nursing, check BUHS's affiliated-college list (BUHS list, session 2024β25).
- Ask where students train β and see the permission. GNM and B.Sc are hospital-heavy courses; a college should name its hospitals and show the posting order.
